I’ve had the opportunity to pursue my Foundation Year in Group Analysis from Hank Nunn Institute in collaboration with the Institute of Group Analysis, London. I’ve also been a part of MOSAIC, an Academic Therapeutic Community, which has taught me the value of collaboration and communication. Currently, I run a full-time private practice working with individuals and groups.
I know that starting therapy can feel like a huge step, and one might have a lot of anticipations and curiosities regarding the process. If I have to break it down for you, I like to think of therapy as a collaborative process where we engage in a mutual meaning-making process. I do not believe that I’m the expert on your life; rather, my expertise lies in helping you navigate the challenges and difficulties you would like to address. I look at your difficulties in relation to your socio-cultural and political context, as these are important determinants of how we see and experience the world. I’m curious about you and your experiences rather than the labels you come with, and by that I mean a lot of our conversations will be around how you experience your distress. Lastly, I believe that therapy serves as a mirror to our interactions with the world, thus allowing us to work through our difficulties in the here and now.
