My approach to therapy is strongly defined by my stance as a feminist and principles of social justice. While the therapy space is all about the client, their problem may not be. Since we live in a world where existence is more difficult for some, we have to acknowledge caste, gender, class and living situations. By nature of it’s existence, therapy should be queer affirmative, caste sensitive and neurodivergence accommodative.
Hence, i try to utilize the tenets of psychodynamic theory, client centered therapy, existential approach, narrative thinking in my work.
I believe that the therapy room should hold enough safety for discomfort whilst also hosting a lot of joy, whimsy and humour.
When I’m not in the therapy room, you’ll find me with my nose in a book or consuming copious amounts of pop culture or going on a wikipedia binge. You’ll always hear me yapping about my dogs (i love them) or AI and and self help books (not a fan)
